    Temple

Today, we skipped the early dive and opted for a later one after 11 AM. Due to the current running from east to west, I planned a dive in an easterly direction around the outcrops near the pier, forming a box shape to allow us to drift back with the current. Towards the end of the dive, I ascended to verify my bearings - we werespot on but had doubted myself prematurely. This site is teeming with diverse marine life, with coral outcrops and sandy stretches. We noticed Hossam showing some students something in the distance, and once they cleared, we went over to investigate. We discovered approximately five blue-spotted shield sea slugs with electric blue spots and shield-shaped heads on the sandy bottom, moving quickly but seemingly aimlessly.

    Salt Pier

Shore entry, tricky with waves and surge. Entered North side of pier next to guard hut. Snorkelled to first pylon, en-route encountered turtles feeding (loads of snorkelers). At the first pylon I took a bearing and we descended swimming west to the 1 of 5 pylons. Lovely slow recreational dive with an abundance of sea life, fish and corals. At the 5th pylon turned around and headed back. At the 1st pylon Katrina got a foot cramp, we hung around till she felt better. Loads of turtles ~10 feeding on the way back.

    Bass Lake

Shore dive In - 10:58 Out - 11:21 Average depth - 9 m Visability - 4 m ->, 12 m | Led the dive. Dive was basically just a "get back on the bicycle" dive. Swam around and saw the Kudu. Saw a few fish. Swam a few walls. Otherwise enjoyable.
